A Bad Case of a Drowned Cell Phone

I have effectively put two phones out of commission within the space of two months. The first one just decided that it didn’t want to work for no apparent reason so I went back to the phone that I had about three years ago that liked to drop calls and had a few other glitches but it worked okay until my pocket decided that it had had enough of carrying the phone and ejected it right into the toilet never to live again. So…if you need to get in contact with me I have an email, a blog, and a facebook account that I check…occasionally. My plan on my cell-phone lets me get a new phone on Sept. 3 and now I am counting the days. If anyone has an old phone that they would let me borrow until then I would very much appreciate it :)

Somehow I think that I am supposed to learn a lesson from this. On Sunday the talks in Sacrament Meeting were on being too attached to technology. I like to think that I am not that attached, but I think that this experience is teaching me that I am a little too dependent on it. I didn’t think that I used it that much but I no longer know the time and it scares me to use my actual alarm clock as an alarm clock (plus it makes the most annoying noise to wake up to). I am afraid that the alarm won’t go off and consequently wake up every 20 minutes for hours before I need to wake up. I am still using technology to get this message to the world so maybe I am not learning as much of a lesson as I should.

So you have probably already come to the conclusion that I am weird but I am going to totally confirm your suspicions. I found the following comic strip on xkcd.com and was so inexplicably happy that I am not the only one that does this (and hey the author of the comic strip must have done it, or known someone that did). 





By the way, 1453 is a prime number so 1*1453 would be the prime factor. Just so you know.

Sometimes It Pays to Complain

To start this story I would just like to say that I really do like my car. It makes me feel sporty (especially when  it gets to go cool places and/or has the bike rack attached so the following story is not a reflection on my feelings for my car rather the situation in general.


So I have been having some issues with the windows on my car. The first one broke during finals week and I just kept trying to get it fixed, but they told me it would cost me almost $400 dollars to fix it. I was so ticked, I had read online about how it was a common problem with the 2006 Jeep Liberties that the motors and regulators die and I didn’t have any money to get it fixed. I just had them put the window up and I wasn’t able to roll it down, which was annoying, but I could deal with that.  Well, a few weeks ago the passenger side window also broke while it was sitting in the parking lot innocently minding its own business I was ticked, annoyed, frustrated, wanted to cry, and sort of angry. I took it to shop and they put up the window with duct tape, I looked like the redneck hick that I probably am but try not to be.  So I emailed Jeep a rather strongly worded letter about how ridiculous the situation was and TADA! They called me back and told me to take it to a Jeep Certified Dealership so they could diagnose the problem and see if they could pay for it. They decided that they would pay for it.(YAY!)  On Sunday my back driver side window broke too, (Yes, this is the same window that broke as I was driving away from the dealership after I bought my car, which was thankfully still under warranty) and they decided that they would pay for that too. So  now all of the windows on my car roll up and down and the regulators and motors have all been replaced except for the one window that the mechanics said was fine.

So (very)long story short. It pays to complain because this situation would have probably cost me over $1,000 but only cost me $106.25 (plus a few trips to St. George where I proceeded to buy stuff including a new bedspread :)).

I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind.
Some come from ahead and some come from behind.  

But I've bought a big bat. I'm all ready you see.

TADA!!

I am finally blogging again. Did you miss me? I was going to start out with a story about how I have been having such an exciting summer that I haven’t had time, but that would be a lie. Although I have been having a good summer I haven’t been quite that busy. Sometimes it is just easier not to write on the blog…sorry! Besides I am on the computer all day and I don’t always want to get on the computer when I am home.

So the whole list of things to do this summer is obviously not going well because I haven’t written on this once a week. Oops!I have done some of them but I definitely need to get through them faster. I am quite far on my reading list though and have read quite a few books that aren’t even on the list.

I have been sick this week and I had food poisoning last week and I was sick earlier in the summer so all in all I think that I have fulfilled my sick quota for at least the next year. At least! Being sick is not one of the things that make me happy, just so you know. But the good news is that other than a lingering runny nose and sore throat I feel sooooo much better.

In other news, my mom, aunt, sister and brother-in-law are amazing. This weekend they went to Idaho to compete in the Spudman Triathlon. They all lived...as far as I know .They are all basically awesome and I wish I could be as cool as them…maybe next year.

Apparently I feel the need to make this long, but this week I got a Wii. My parents are giving it to me for graduation and it has been a lot of fun. I went and got a Wii fit balance board and game and if you ever need to reevaluate your goal of losing weight just step on one of those and do the body test. YIKES! Oh well, that is why I got that right? Motivation.

My Hero!

Today is the anniversary of the day of birth for my hero. He is AMAZING! He is the best dad that a girl could ever ask for and I am so glad that he is my dad. He is a genius and knows all sorts of information. He is super strong, when I said hero I meant super hero. He is great at fixing things and I call him up whenever I need advice on anything that needs fixing. I could go on, but I will just end with this: I LOVE YOU DAD! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

So there is this boy that stole my heart 6 years ago that loves Toy Story, Cars, riding his bike, fruit, water (swimming, boating,…) , under-doggies on the swing, playing with any sort of ball, the Olympics and many more things. We made a deal that he would give me a hug when he sees me and he gives the best hugs, epic really. He is awesome and Tuesday was his birthday. I hope that he had a fabulous day and that he had a great party at the swimming pool.

So the upstairs of our house is a little on the warm side and I bought a fan in order to get some Z’s. I found this comic that matches my sentiments on the occasion perfectly.
